Pour comprendre le fonctionnement d’une anode \u00e0 courant impos\u00e9, il est essentiel de comprendre d’abord le principe de base de la corrosion galvanique. La corrosion galvanique se produit lorsque deux m\u00e9taux diff\u00e9rents sont en contact dans un \u00e9lectrolyte (l’eau dans ce cas), un m\u00e9tal (l’anode) se corrodant pour prot\u00e9ger l’autre (la cathode).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

Dans les chauffe-eau traditionnels, une anode sacrificielle faite d’un m\u00e9tal plus r\u00e9actif (comme le magn\u00e9sium ou l’aluminium) est install\u00e9e. Cette anode se sacrifie en se corrodant en premier, prot\u00e9geant ainsi l’acier du r\u00e9servoir d’eau. Toutefois, ces anodes sacrificielles finissent par se consumer compl\u00e8tement et doivent \u00eatre remplac\u00e9es, faute de quoi le r\u00e9servoir d’eau commence \u00e0 se corroder.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

En revanche, les anodes \u00e0 courant impos\u00e9 fonctionnent selon un principe diff\u00e9rent, appel\u00e9 protection cathodique par courant impos\u00e9. Au lieu de s’appuyer sur la diff\u00e9rence de r\u00e9activit\u00e9 naturelle entre les m\u00e9taux, une source d’\u00e9nergie externe est utilis\u00e9e pour cr\u00e9er un flux de courant qui contr\u00f4le la corrosion.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

L\u2019anodes \u00e0 courant impos\u00e9, g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement en titane ou dans un mat\u00e9riau inerte similaire, est connect\u00e9e \u00e0 une source d’alimentation externe. Lorsque cette alimentation est activ\u00e9e, elle envoie un courant continu de la tige d’anode au r\u00e9servoir du chauffe-eau, qui est con\u00e7u pour jouer le r\u00f4le de cathode dans ce dispositif.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

Toutefois, il est important de noter que les anodes \u00e0 courant impos\u00e9 n\u00e9cessitent une source d’\u00e9nergie continue pour fonctionner. Une coupure de courant ou une d\u00e9faillance de l’unit\u00e9 d’alimentation peut laisser le r\u00e9servoir du chauffe-eau sans protection contre la corrosion. Le Corro-Protec ne n\u00e9cessite aucun entretien particulier. Laissez-le connect\u00e9 \u00e0 tout moment et il ne fonctionnera que si n\u00e9cessaire. M\u00eame si vous \u00e9teignez le r\u00e9servoir d’eau chaude, s’il y a encore de l’eau dans le r\u00e9servoir, le Corro-Protec restera fonctionnel pour \u00e9viter la corrosion. Si vous videz le r\u00e9servoir, le Corro-Protec s’\u00e9teindra automatiquement car l’eau agit comme un conducteur entre l’anode et le sol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
